There are over 300,000 boats registered in North Carolina, and boating is undoubtedly one of the state'smost popular sports.

The boating and fishing public has free access to the state's waters via more than 185 access areas operated throughout North Carolina.

The boating access program is administered by the Division of Engineering Services.
